Infertility

Infertility – or the inability for a couple to conceive by natural means – has increased significantly in the past 20-30 years. Although the focus is often on resolving any underlying hormonal issues for the woman, it is important that we also look after the man. Statistics show that sperm count and motility in New Zealand men have decreased significantly in the last 10 years.

The good news is that we now know through world-leading medical research conducted right here in New Zealand, that implementing a good nutritional programme at least 3 months prior to conception positively impacts on the quality of both ovum and sperm, necessary for a healthy conception. In fact, the nutritional status of both parents prior to conception is so important that medical researchers can now take this into account to identify potential health issues the child may face.

If you are planning a pregnancy or are experiencing fertility issues, it is vital that your nutritional status is assessed, preferably at least 3 months prior to conception. This allows us to identify any nutritional deficiencies that may prevent healthy egg and sperm production.

We can design a nutritional and lifestyle programme for you and your partner to help with reproductive health and hormonal balance.  Please contact us to make an appointment for you and your partner.
